Bath Marina and Caravan Park

Somerset

Riverside hard-standing pitches three miles from the city centre

About Bath Marina and Caravan Park

Bath Marina and Caravan Park lies beside the Avon at Newbridge, about three miles west of the city centre, and is the closest full-facility park to Bath itself. The site has around 88 concrete hard-standing pitches arranged in bands from economy up to larger woodland-edge plots, and takes touring caravans, motorhomes, campervans, larger American RVs and tents. Every pitch has a 16-amp electric hook-up, a television connection point and wi-fi coverage, which is unusual for a park of this size.

The practical appeal is the walk into Bath. The riverside towpath runs from the marina straight into the centre, flat the whole way, taking around an hour on foot or twenty minutes by bike, and the Newbridge park and ride is a short distance away for anyone who would rather take the bus. That combination means you can leave the vehicle on the pitch for the duration of a city break, which is worth a great deal in a place where central parking is both scarce and expensive.

On site there is a heated shower and toilet block, laundry facilities, a food shop, a children's play area and a dog walking route along the water. Dogs are welcome. The setting is a working marina rather than open countryside, so expect boats, some coming and going, and a degree of background noise from the nearby road; visitors who want silence will be happier further out. It is open through the year and is popular with people using Bath as a base for the wider West Country, so booking is advisable in summer and over the Christmas Market period.
