Simple, quiet farm camping five miles west of Bath at Corston

About Bury View Farm Caravan and Campsite

Bury View Farm is a small working-farm campsite outside the village of Corston, roughly five miles west of Bath on the road towards Keynsham and Bristol. Despite being that close to a major visitor city, the feel on site is properly rural: open fields, hedgerows, long views and very little passing traffic. It is a straightforward site rather than a holiday park, and that is the point. People come here because it is quiet, cheap and unfussy.

Pitches take tents, touring caravans and motorhomes, with a good number of electric hook-ups available and fresh water points around the field. The facilities block has separate ladies' and gents' sections plus accessible facilities, each with modern showers, vanity units, mirrors, shaver points and hot water. There is a covered washing-up area with light and hot water. Barbecues are permitted, Calor gas is sold on site, and dogs are welcome provided they are kept on a lead. There is no shop, no bar and no swimming pool, so stock up in Corston or Saltford before you arrive. Payment has traditionally been cash only, which is worth checking when you book.

As a base it works well. Bath is a ten-minute drive or a bus ride away, Bristol is around twenty minutes, and the Cotswold Way, the Two Tunnels route and the Kennet and Avon towpath are all within striking distance for walkers and cyclists. Prices are around 24 pounds a night for two people with a unit, which makes it one of the better-value options within easy reach of the city. The main season runs from spring to autumn; contact the farm directly for current dates and availability.
