Five-star park near Crantock with fishing lakes, pool and a short walk to the beach
Trevella Park sits in the countryside just outside Crantock, a couple of miles from Newquay on the north coast, and is one of Cornwall's long-established five-star holiday parks. The site covers a large area of landscaped grounds with mature planting, three coarse fishing lakes and wide open camping fields, and it is close enough to Crantock Beach — a broad, sheltered sweep of sand at the mouth of the Gannel — to reach it on foot in around twenty minutes, or by a short drive.
Accommodation covers most bases. There are touring and camping pitches with electric hook-ups, hardstandings for motorhomes, ready-erected glamping tents and pods, and static caravans and lodges for those who would rather not pitch at all. Facilities include a heated outdoor swimming pool, a shop, a play area, a games room and well-kept shower blocks. The fishing lakes are stocked and available to guests, and there is enough space that the site rarely feels cramped even when full.
Touring pitches start from around £20 a night for two adults on a short stay outside the busy months, with dogs charged a small nightly supplement and a two-dog limit. Prices climb substantially in July and August, when the park books out early. The setting a little way inland means it is more sheltered than the clifftop sites, which makes a real difference in unsettled weather, and the ground drains reasonably well. It suits families wanting a pool and organised facilities as a fallback for rainy days, and makes a practical base for Newquay's surf beaches, Watergate Bay and the Camel Trail at Padstow, all within half an hour's drive.
