Quiet family touring park near Woodbury, midway between the Exe estuary and Dartmoor
Webbers Park is a family-run touring park at Woodbury in East Devon, set in open countryside on the edge of Woodbury Common. Its appeal is largely geographic: it sits roughly equidistant from Exmouth beach, the Exe estuary and the eastern edge of Dartmoor, which makes it a practical single base for people who want to see more than one part of the county without moving on every few days.
The park takes tents, touring caravans and motorhomes across level and gently sloping grass pitches, with electric hook-ups available. Facilities include three shower and toilet blocks, a laundry, a shop stocking basics, and a children's play area. Dogs are welcome on leads. It is deliberately low-key, with no pool, no clubhouse and no entertainment programme, which is exactly why regulars come back; families who want an arcade and a nightly show will be happier at one of the larger coastal parks.
Woodbury Common itself is heathland criss-crossed with walking and cycling tracks, good for early mornings and dog walks, and the Pebblebed Heaths are a designated conservation area with skylarks and Dartford warblers. Exmouth and the start of the Jurassic Coast are around fifteen minutes by car, Budleigh Salterton and Sidmouth a little further east, and Exeter is roughly twenty minutes north with the Exe Estuary Trail offering a traffic-free cycle route in. Prices run from about 25 pounds a night for two in low season to around 30 pounds in high season, with extra charges for additional adults, awnings and hook-up. The season runs from spring to October.
