Losehill House stands on the slope beneath Losehill itself, a mile or so up a narrow lane from the village of Hope. It began life as an Arts and Crafts era walking club house, and the setting is the main draw: south-facing rooms look down the Hope Valley towards Win Hill, and the ridge walk over Losehill to Mam Tor starts from the lane outside rather than requiring a drive.
Rooms are traditional in style without being fussy, with the pricier categories taking the valley view and some adding balconies or freestanding baths. The hotel holds four AA stars and scores around 8.9 out of 10 with guests, with feedback consistently praising the outlook and the standard of dinner.
