Bryn Gloch Caravan & Camping Park

Gwynedd

Family-run riverside park at the foot of Yr Wyddfa, five miles from Caernarfon

About Bryn Gloch Caravan & Camping Park

Bryn Gloch sits at Betws Garmon in the Gwyrfai valley, on the banks of the Afon Gwyrfai between Moel Eilio and Mynydd Mawr, about five miles south-east of Caernarfon. It is a family-run park and has been for decades, and it is one of the best-equipped sites inside the national park boundary — the opposite end of the spectrum from the wilder lakeside sites further into the mountains.

Pitches run to grass and hardstanding, with electric and fully serviced options for tourers and motorhomes as well as generous tent ground. Shepherd's huts and camping pods provide the glamping option for those who would rather not pitch at all. Facilities include heated shower and toilet blocks, a well-stocked shop, a games room, two play areas, laundry and free Wi-Fi across the site. Fishing is available on the river running through the grounds, and up to two dogs per party are welcome.

The setting works well for families: children have space and a river to play beside, while Caernarfon and its castle are ten minutes away and the Welsh Highland Railway stops at Waunfawr just up the road. Yr Wyddfa's Snowdon Ranger and Rhyd Ddu paths are both within a short drive, and Llanberis is fifteen minutes over the hill. Being a valley site, it catches the weather, so expect rain and pack accordingly. Prices for 2026 run from roughly £26 a night for a tent or touring pitch in low season, rising to over £60 at peak, with pods and huts from about £60. Book early for July, August and bank holidays, when the park fills completely.
